As usual with a production made at Sono Luminus, the sound is excellent. The Steinway D piano comes through with a fine transparency and solid definition, while maintaining a fairly resonant bloom. Transient response and dynamic impact are especially impressive…
— John J. Puccio, Classical Candor
Superb sound from Sono Luminus, one of the few American labels playing in the engineering big leagues, is a bonus.
— James Manheim, AllMusic
As always with releases on the Sono Luminus label, it’s beautifully recorded and immersive...

what people are saying

The sound quality is first-rate.

Guy Rickards, Gramophone
ALBUM: The Kernis Project: Debussy

immaculate sound quality…

Ron Schepper, Textura
ALBUM: Edge of Youth

…mixing & mastering engineer Daniel Shores deserves a Grammy nomination for engineering. If you have ever heard recordings with more convincing depictions of sustained sounds forming, blooming, and decaying in space, I want to know about them.

…It’s one of the most convincing arguments for hi-rez sound I know.

Jason Victor Serinus, Stereophile

ALBUM: Beyond

…Sono Luminus’s production values are immaculate.

Graham Rickson, The Arts Desk

ALBUM: Barley Moon

…deftly captured…

Patrick Rucker, Gramophone

ALBUM: Partitas for Harpsichord, BWV 825-830

I don't remember ever having as much musical enjoyment as I did reviewing these four recordings. All four recordings have state of the art sound.

Roger S. Gordon, Positive Feedback

ALBUMS: Entendre, Americana, Sprung Rhythm, Nine Notes That Shook the World

…sonically spectacular…

Joseph Newsome, Voix des Arts

ALBUM: Partitas for Harpsichord, BWV 825-830

Sono Luminus’ keyboard recordings are unsurpassed in detail, color, and dynamic nuance. The harpsichord is a fiendishly difficult instrument to reproduce, but with this 24-bit, 352.8 kHz DXD recording, the sustained part of each note is naturally associated to the sharp transited that began it…the acoustic is warmly spacious and the harpsichord…never sounds over-etched or harsh.

ALBUM: Partitas for Harpsichord, BWV 825-830

And speaking of recording, the sound here is superb, with Muresanu’s richly present violin basking in a warm silence that highlights every nuance of her playing. On all levels, a very impressive release.
