…mixing & mastering engineer Daniel Shores deserves a Grammy nomination for engineering. If you have ever heard recordings with more convincing depictions of sustained sounds forming, blooming, and decaying in space, I want to know about them.
…It’s one of the most convincing arguments for hi-rez sound I know.

Superb sound from Sono Luminus, one of the few American labels playing in the engineering big leagues, is a bonus.
As for the fine recording – engineered by Dan Merceruio and Daniel Shores – it enhances what is already an engrossing aural experience.
Dreaming, by Anna Thorvaldsdóttir…allows the engineers to demonstrate just how immersive a sophisticated and meticulously planned recording can be. Demonstration-quality audio, without a doubt.
This is among the best sounding solo violin recordings I've ever encountered.
The high-definition studio recording is exemplary – natural, detailed, spacious and well balanced.
The music arose out of a totally black background. The musicians were right there in front of me. Another spectacular recording.

I don’t tend to put much stock in GRAMMY nominations, which rarely seem to reflect critical consensus or popular acclaim. But this gorgeously recorded CD/Blu-ray set by an exciting young Washington, D.C., chamber ensemble thwarts skepticism...
Sono Luminus’s sound is excellent...
The 192K/24-bit 5.1 surround on the Blu-ray Pure Audio disc is warm and superb and makes the accompanying standard CD sound like a shadow of itself.
The recording quality is sensationally vivid.
Over the years I have reviewed quite a few wonderful recordings. However, I don't remember ever having as much musical enjoyment as I did reviewing these four recordings. All four recordings have state of the art sound. The music is interesting both intellectually and musically. The performances are marvelous. All four CDs receive my highest recommendation.
